Target Level creation in OBIEE11g

To support the marketing campaigns and segmentation activity it is necessary to select the target level/audience level from where the customers would be targeted.

Target Level creation in OBIEE11g RPD is exactly same as in OBIEE10g. Here the steps need to follow to build the target levels:-

Step1) Open the RPD and go to Manage and then Marketing option

Step2) In the left pane you can see different Marketing Object options i.e. Target Level, QLI, List Catalog etc.

Step3) Click on Qualified List Items. On the right pane right click on your mouse and choose New Qualified List Item.

Step4) On the General tab give a name of the QLI. On the Cache Information tab select the Cache Catalog that you have created in RPD presentation layer, GUID column and QLI column. You also need to select the physical table to use the Cache data. E.g. for account the OOTB table is M_C_ACCOUNT

Step5) Click on Target Levels option and then on the right pane right click on your mouse and choose New Target Level.

Step6) On the General tab, give a name of the Target level you want to create. Select the QLI created in Step 4.

In the Segmentation Catalogs tab – add the presentation catalog you want to associate. Only one can be primary; rest are secondary catalogs

Open each of associated catalogs and assign the QLIs

Sampling would be as per your requirement

Save Result Sets – as you did for QLI cache, select the presentation catalog create in RPD for SRS. Select the physical SRS table and choose the defauly SQL

Step7) Similarly you can create the List catalog

Step8) Once done click on Action and check the marketing metadata consistency
