Segment and Segment tree creation in OBIEE11g

Creating segment and segment tree in OBIEE11g is similar as you did in OBIEE11g. Refer the steps below to create segment/segment tree in 11g.

Step1) Login to OBIEE web portal using your credentials

Step2) Click on New à Segment/Segment Tree under Marketing option

Step3) It will ask you to choose the target level from where you want to build the segment/tree

Step4) Once the target level is selected it will display all the presentation columns at the left pane of the screen. Double click on the attribute needed to build the segmentation rule e.g. “Location IS NOT NULL”

Step5) Go to Advance Options of the segment --> check the "Default to cache criteria blocks for future jobs" option and again go back to 'Edit Segment' option to do the update count

Step6) Go to  Administration --> Manage Marketing Jobs and check the SQL generated query

Step7) Click on the Save button on the top right corner and save it as segment 1
