OBIEE11g RPD and Webcat deployment

1.       Create a folder into OBIEE11g box and place the latest RPD into it

2.       Login to OBIEE11g enterprise manager using the link below:

http://IP address:Port/em/

3.       Go to Deployment tab and then Repository section (all BI servers should be up and running)

4.       Click ‘Lock and Edit Configuration’

5.       Go to ‘Upload BI Server Repository’ section and then browse the latest RPD. Mentioned the Repository password as ‘security9’

6.       Give the full ‘Webcat’ path details

7.       Click on ‘Apply’ and the ‘Activate Changes’

8.       Restart the BI services using enterprise manager

Note: You don’t need to change the NQSConfig.INI file manually. It will be taken care by fusion middleware.

If you need to change the connection pool details & not able to open the RPD in online mode then –

1.       Open the NQSConfig.INI file and change the following parameter to ‘YES’ FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YES;

2.       Open the RPD in online mode and change the connection pool details

3.       Revert back the GUID parameter value to ‘NO’

FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = NO;

4.       Restart the BI services from enterprise manager
